New for 2008. 2007 will be the first year with pasture raised chickens. As such, we are working out the kinks in our process. Expectations are to accept orders in 2008.
Our chickens are pastured when weather permits. All birds are grown until at least nine weeks of age and are moved to fresh pasture weekly. Our birds enjoy daily sunshine and foraging for insects and vegetation.

The honey crop is in!
The 2006 season produced extraordinary honey. The mild winter along with early spring rains allowed the colonies to get up to strength earlier than normal. WillowBeeFarm honey is light colored and oh so good. A large part of our farm has been allowed to grow wild. Aster, golden rod, rasberries, grapes and apple blossums supply the bees with ample nectar.
2007 update: The bees wintered over nicely. 80% of the hives survived the mild winter and are at good strength. On March 24, 2007 we had an unseasonably warm day and the honey bees were busy cleaning house and collecting pollen! This early start to the season should pay off nicely with a strong spring honey flow.
Honey prices - $4/lb
